En Route to Acapulco
Greetings One and All,
The past two days have been packed with excitement. We arrived early in Limon, Costa Rica. We signed up for a days journey to the rain forest. Great experience ! It took two hours to get there by bus through the Costa Rica country side. We saw banana farms, farm after farm. We saw pineapple farms, significant poverty, at least to this eye. There is but one road on the Caribbean side Rt.32. It is a two way road loaded with 18 wheelers coming the caribbean port to the city of San Jose/ Loads of fun.
We reach the forest for a nature walk to learn of the vegetation around. We then board a tram that takes us for an hour's ride through the forest at three different levels. There are only six adults in the tram plus a guide to point out vegetation, snakes, monkeys and birds. It was educational. We then returned to our starting point for lunch on native foods. I must say it was an enjoyable lunch, different but good. Then back on the bus to the ship for two hours of sleep and sights. The guide was excellent and enthusiastic about her country. Once on board skipped dinner in the dining room and grabbed something on the Lido, ships buffet. Went to the evening show and then hit the sack.
The following morning woke up at the entrance of the Panama Canal. What a great day.
We entered the Canal around 8 am and left at 5pm. Through this time period we went through locks crossed a lake then entered two more locks. Near the lend of the trip we passed a visitro's center
