Off To Limon, Costa Rica

Greetings,

What a day in Curacao.  The weather was perfect and the sights great.  When we left the ship we hired a taxi for a three hour tour of the island.  Curacao is 35 miles long and at it widest point 14 miles.  Not many hills, but many beautiful beaches.  There are a number of significant resorts such as Hilton, Marriott, international chains, each claiming a beach front setting.  After the tour we went wondering around town.  The architecture is Dutch in design in very, very bright colors  Stopped by the river for lunch and people watching.  Great experience - we then walked across what they call the sing bridge - wooden and attractive.  On both sides you can see the colorful Dutch architecture, yellow, blue, tan, cream, reds really colorful.   Walked back to the ship and sat listening to a local musician along side the ship.  When I get back on board I had Mass.  After Mass had dinner in the Lido, did not feel like dressing for dinner.

After dinner went forward and enjoyed "my" deck, 9th front.  The weather was great warm, little breeze, and a beautiful clear sky, filled with stars and a great moon.  Went to the aft of the ship on 9 and enjoyed an evening of music with over 300 people dancing under the clear sky.  What a wonderful evening, not to mention a great day.

Today we are cruising the Caribbean on our way to Limon, Costa Rica.  Have made reservations for a full day tour of the jungle.  The tour includes a trip on an arial tram through the jungle.  This trip has a great pre tour hype for me.  Will let you know.

I am still having trouble sending photos.  I will try in LA.  There must be an internet cafe in that crazy city.

I am meeting many interesting folk.  The latest is a retired psychologist from southern California.  She gets around in a wheel chair.  She is loud, colorful, outgoing and fun to be with.  She is traveling with her husband a retired engineer.

Take care, will be in touch.

Bill

Can't wait to see the photos of Curaco. The architecture colors sound amazing! And the jungle tour...I am so jealous! Careful on the arial tram, don't want you to become lunch for a lion!
